My images have always been natural, candid and above all real. Though I some times work at the arrangements and posing to augment the underlying emotion, drama and story of the wedding I keep it real.
Wedding Photography has changed and the magazine look and reportage styles are every popular. This is ideal for me as I have always used the latest magazines and fashion photography as my inspiration whilst the reportage style is merely a continuation of my approach to more natural photography.
Although I have always been heavily involved in Wedding Photography and Portraiture I have also worked on many large commercial photographic assignments for blue chip companies.
I have also given regular lectures to photographic students both in the UK and professional groups overseas.
Fine Art Photography has always been a strong pull to me and I endeavour to incorporate the Fine Art look in my photography.
About
Photography by Rory Cook
After attending a three year full time Diploma and Professional Photographic Qualifying course I started my career in Advertising and Commercial Photography before embarking in to the specialist world of Weddings and Portraiture.
For a period I enrolled on a two year program in Art & Design, as I strongly believe that my photography has an art base and I wanted to include more interpretation in to my work. This helped considerable in appreciating both excellent design and how I could include art interpretation into my images.
Art has been an important aspect in the prestigious awards I have gained from Professional Photographic bodies.
I am an Associate and long time member of the British Institute of Professional Photography and I have served on a regional committee of the B.I.P.P.
